Melinda Swift was born in Adelaide, Australia on November 17, 1965. she received the B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), and the Ph.D. degrees in theoretical nuclear physics from the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, S.A. Australia in 1985, 1986, and 1993, respectively.Since 1989 she has been with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Salisbury, South Australia. Her current research interests are in sonar signal processing. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Physics.
