Anthony I. Eller (M'68-SM'78) was born in Detroit, MI, and received his formal education at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, and at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, where he received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 1966.

He has had a variety of professional experiences that include university research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard, teaching physics and underwater acoustics at the Naval Postgraduate School, Navy ASW support as a private contractor, and performance and management of ASW related R&D at the Naval Research Laboratory and at the Naval Ocean Research and Development Activity.

Dr. Eller currently serves as a Vice President of the Oceanic Engineering Society and as an Associate Editor of the IEEE JOURNAL OF OCEANIC ENGINEERING.
