Patricia D. Bass presently is an undergraduate student in computer science at the University of Maryland.She completed the Department of Commerce Scientific Technician Program in 1975 and has worked as a technician in the ocean engineering and ocean chemistry fields for 16 years in the Department of Commerce/NOAA. She has worked as data analyst in addition to developing and performing chemical, physical and engineering tests on oceanographic and chemical instrumentation. She has served as Chief Scientist on numerous oceanographic monitoring cruises for NOAA.
Ms. Bass has authored 16 technical reports and publications and she is a member of the Current Measurement Technology Committee of the Oceanic Engineering Society, Marine Technology Society and Womens Aquatic Network, Inc.
