J. Eric Salt (M'88) was born in Saskatchewan, Canada. He received the B.Sc. degree from the University ol Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan, Canada, the M.Eng. degree from Carleton University, Ontario, Canada, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Saskatchewan, all in Electrical Engineering, in 1974, 1977, and 1987 respectively.

He worked as a Product Development Engineer in the telecommunications industry with Bell Northern Research, Ottawa, Ontario, from 1974 to 1976, and with SED Systems, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, from 1977 to 1982. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, in 1985 and presently holds the rank of Associate Professor. His current research interests are in building wireless communication and underwater sonar signal processing.
