Michael A. Metcalf received the B.A. degree in physics from the University of California at San Diego in 1980, and the Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Barbara in geological sciences in 1988 for work in the area of geomagnetism.He has been working at RD Instruments, San Diego, CA, since 1988 in the technical marketing and sales group. He currently oversees the majority of international business for this group.
