Henry R. Frey is Chief, Marine Environmental Services Division (MESD), Office of Oceanography, National Ocean Survey, NOAA. The MESD plans and coordinates circulatory surveys in United States estuarine and coastal waters, and it publishes tide tables, tidal current tables and charts, and survey and special reports.Prior to joining the National Ocean Survey in 1977, Dr. Frey was Director of Physical Oceanography for Alpine Geophysical Associates, Director of the Chesapeake Research Consortium, and a United Nations consultant to the Government of Jamaica. He also was Underwater Technology Group Leader for Uniroyal, Inc., and a member of the USN SEALAB II Project Team. He has served as Senior Research Scientist at New York University School of Engineering and Science, and as Associate Professor of Oceanography at the Polytechnic Institute of New York.
