David E. Hollinberger (S'77-M'79) was born in Ames, IA, in 1955. He earned the B.E. degree (summa cum laude) in electrical and biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, 1978.From 1978 to 1987 he served as an Engineering Duty Officer in the U.S. Navy, specializing in submarine construction and overhaul. His duty stations included the Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC; USS Nathanael Greene (SSBN 636); and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA. Since 1987 he has been an Electronics Engineer at the Naval Avionics Center, Indianapolis, IN, responsible for the performance, procurement, and testing of DIFAR and VLAD sonobuoys. He had overall responsibility for the ANDL buoy project, including performance requirement definition, procurement, deployment, and data analysis.
Mr. Hollinberger is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana and a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserves.
