Nikitas V. Nikitakos (S'88-M'91) received the B.Sc. degree in naval engineering from the Hellenic Naval Academy, M.Sc. degrees in applied mathetmatics and electrical engineering, both from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece.

He is currently an active Commander of the Hellenic Navy. His research interests include radar and sonar theory and techniques, computer systems security, and communication systems.
