Rongxing Li received the B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in surveying and mapping from Tongji University, Shanghai, China, and the Doctor of Engineering degree in photogrammetry and remote sensing from the Technical University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany.

Before joining The Ohio State University, Columbus, in 1996 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science, he was Associate Professor in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at the University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada. From 1990 to 1992, he was an Assistant Researcher at the Pacific Mapping Center of the University of Hawaii. His current research interests include digital photogrammetry and vision, real-time and mobile mappings, 3-D GIS, marine and coastal GIS, and virtual reality.
