This user guide describes the functionality and installation procedure of the Meinberg Monitor program MbgMon for Windows.

INSTALLATION:

To install the fully functional MbgMon-wx software, the Meinberg driver package should be installed first.
It is available here: http://www.meinbergglobal.com/english/sw/#win
After the driver is successfully installed, the MgbMon-wx.exe installation follows with admin user rights. 
This is a fully automatic installation of the Monitor program for monitoring and configuration of the reference clock.

INFORMATION:

The MbgMon-wx can run under Windows versions including Windows NT and newer: Windows 2000, Windows XP (also x64),
Windows Server 2003 (also x64) as well as Windows Vista (also x64). 
The MgbMon program will be started with admin rights to make sure, that a user configuration is allowed and the system time adjusted.
The program can be used with all Meinberg manufactured computer plug-in cards for PCI,
PCI express and ISA-Bus as well as with an external ref clock connected by a serial RS-232 interface which delivers a Meinberg Standard Time string.
Likewise Meinberg receivers with a USB connection can also be monitored and configured with this software.
The Meinberg Timeservice MbgAdjTm which is a part of the driver package reads the time information
from the installed reference clock and adjusts the windows system time accordingly.  


If the time difference between the ref clock and system time is below a configured threshold, then the adjustment
of the system time is carried out smoothly without time jumps and thus unnoticeable to other programs. The time service runs
in the background and continues to operate even when no user is logged in. 
With the help of the MbgMon the time service can be monitored and configured while the system is in operation.
In addition, configuration parameters of the reference clocks (PCI, PCIe, serial, USB) can be viewed or changed.
