SWELTASK This program gives you two options for computing HAAT: þ You can compute the HAAT for a specified SITE. You willenter the site coordinates, elevation, and antenna height. You will also enter the radials you want to use to compute the site HAAT and the distance along the radials to use in averaging the elevations. þ You can compute the HAAT for a path from the specified site to a target site. You will enter the coordinates, of both sites, and the elevation and antenna height of the first (or "primary") site, as well as the distance along thepath to use to average the elevations. In the "path" mode, you will also have the option to computethe reverse HAAT, i.e, from the target site back to the primary site. The two HAAT values will often not be the same. For example, if two sites are 40 kilometers apart, and the HAAT calculation is based on the elevations from 3-16 kilometers from each site, the HAAT values for the two sites along the same path can be quite different. If you want to compute the reverse HAAT, you will also need to enter the site and antenna elevations for the target site. When computing a "path" HAAT you will also have the option of computing the Directional HAAT (or DHAAT). This value isdefined as the average of three radials: the specified path, and the paths on a given offset azimuth, such as ñ15ø from the direct path. If you do not want to compute the DHAAT, simply specify an offset of zero. SITEELEV Enter the elevation of the primary site Above Mean Sea Level(AMSL). If you do not know the elevation, press and the program will use the data base elevation to compute the HAAT values. Note that some FCC requirements specify that the site elevation MUST be accurately obtained from a topographic map, field survey, or other reliable source. SITEAGL Enter the height of the antenna center Above Ground Level (AGL) for the HAAT calculation. If you want to compute the HAAT for the site with no antenna height considered, enter avalue of zero. AVGDIST Enter the distance to start and stop the terrain averaging for the HAAT calculations, as well as the step, or incrementto use for the elevation data points. AVGAZIM Enter the azimuths you want to average for the site HAAT, separated by commas. DHAAT Enter the value of the azimuth offset for the Directional HAAT calculation. The DHAAT is defined as the average of three radials: the specified path, and the paths on a givenoffset azimuth, such as ñ15ø from the direct path.
