Run the script on the MarsDCS computer as root. First set the default directory: cd /webdata/MarsDCS/bin/obc_timing Then execute the script: ./mars_timing.pl The following menu will appear: MARS High Precision Timing – v1.20050826 ShoreClock: #CKA NodeClock: #C01A x) eXit a) use ShoreClockAddr b) use NodeClockAddr c) use nsec 1) View Shore Clock Time 2) Set Shore Clock Time 3) View Node Clock Time 4) Set Node Clock Time 5) Get Propagation Delay (Latency) 6) Set Propagation Delay Offset 7) Syncronize Node Clock to Shore Clock 8) Send Global Sync 9) Get Timing Statistics (and send-out !GS every 10 sec) 10) View node clock P,X,I values 11) View node clock Latency Offset Value 12) Set GPS Sync 13) Unset GPS Sync 14) View GPS Sync 15) View GPS String Enter Option Number: The options to use when setting/synchronizing the *sunsea* clock are: 1 - view shore clock time and make sure it's valid 12 - Set GPS sync 3 - view node clock time to make sure communications is working 4 - set output relay 5 - get the propagation delay (for 50 km F/O should be ~257) 6 - set the propagation delay (value returned above/2) 11 - View node clock latency offset to confirm setting 7 - synchronize node clock to shore 8 - send global sync 9 - Get Timing Statistics (and send-out !GS every 10 sec) Notes: This window must be left open for the global sync to be sent. This script must be stopped to enable logging into the NPC.
