     1. Introduction

     The NMEAVWR program in the GARMIN program group can accept NMEA
     data from either the com1 or com2 PC serial port at 1200, 2400,
     4800, or 9600 baud.  The default settings are com1 at 4800 baud.
     NMEAVWR receives NMEA sentences and displays sentence information
     in a formatted display on the screen.  The top portion of the
     screen displays the 5 character identifier of sentences received,
     the age in seconds since the last transmission, and a count of the
     number of times the sentence has been received.  The middle
     portion of the screen displays the most recently received data
     in the sentence with the selected NMEA identifier (highlighted in
     the top portion of the screen using the arrow keys).  The lower
     portion contains a formatted presentation of the currently
     selected sentence.  In addition to receiving data the program
     will also upload NMEA sentences  to the sensor board.  The
     ALT-U key sequence will upload the file NMEA.TXT in the current
     directory to the unit.  Received data can also be logged to a file.
     NMEAVWR can be invoked from a DOS prompt with the following optional
     parameters: c:\garmin\sensorbd\nmeavwr /b:4800  /com1 log_file.txt
     or ran from from windows with the icon installed by the setup
     program.

     This file contains additions and/or corrections to the Owner's Manual
     that came with your sensor board evaluation software.  Due to the lead
     time necessary for printing a manual, some information about certain
     features of the sensor board evaluation software may not defined at
     press time.


     2. Installation Files

     The sensor board evaluation software setup file installs the following
     files:

     3. Un-Install

     To un-install the evaluation software, delete the following files
     from the user selected directory (usually C:\GARMIN\SENSORBD):

        GPSCFG   EXE   
        GPSCFG   HLP
        GPSCFG   ICO
        GPSCFG   TXT
        GPS25PM  EXE   
        GPS25PM  TXT
        GPS25PM  ICO
        NMEAVWR  EXE   
        NMEAVWR  TXT
        NMEAVWR  ICO
        TEXTTYPE ICO

     Delete any user configuration files from the user selected
     directory (usually C:\GARMIN\SENSORBD).


     If the directory is empty, it can also be deleted.

     Using the windows program manager, delete the following icons from
     the Garmin Program Group:

        NMEA VWR
        NMEA VWR NOTES
        GPSCFG
        GPSCFG NOTES
        GPS25PM
        GPS25PM NOTES

     If the Garmin Program Group is empty it can also be deleted with the
     Windows Program Manager.

     In the windows subdirectory delete the GPSCFG.INI file.



     4.  Changing the NMEA Viewer Communications port.

     The NMEA Viewer is a DOS based program which can also be executed
     through the windows operating system.  The windows default
     installation is COM 1.  To change to another communications port:

        1.  Highlight (single click) the NMEA VWR icon with the mouse.

        2.  Select the "File" and "Properties" option with the mouse (or use
        the shortcut key "ALT-ENTER").

        3.  Select the "Command Line" option with the mouse,  hit the "END"
        key and change the com port number to the desired configuration.
