**The News and Notes folder is intended to capture the background information and other items of interest to the project that are not strictly a reference**. 

Note: This is an optional folder but is often very useful particularly when others in the field are using similar technologies.  Example: AUVs have PC-104 computers which are used extensively. Sometimes other areas of technology and applications are of interest to the group. Links, papers, etc. would be put in this folder. 
Subfolders and other methods of distinction can be used to make the folder more useful.
