Hi Bill -

Thought you might be interested to know, I ran the power rack at full
power all afternoon inside the plastic tube.  This was after rigging up
the filter board air dams.  Things look quite good thermally.  In the
plastic tube the hot spot temperatures ran ten degrees hotter than what
I want to see in the metal tube, so I expect in the metal tube things
should run quite cool indeed.  The air flow seemed to go just as we
planned, around the end of the air dam and back down over the filter
board.   From the behavior of the Low Power Switch board I know that
some air must have been flowing out of the backplane and over it, too. 
The total temp rise of the air was about 15 deg. during 1
circuit of the tube; all of that was lost during the brief passage thru
the end bell.  It took about 2 hours for the internal temperatures to
stabilize.  So, I think we are in pretty good shape thermally on the DC
side of the power can; that leaves us just electronic and mechanical
problems to worry about!  And the AC side to look forward to, of course.
