Minutes from EITS teleconference on 2007-04-11

• Working on creating log file representing anxillary data. The content of the log has been defined.
  • Will send us a definitive listing and example log file.
  • The current plan is to generate daily log files.
• Has MBARI account (lfrey). Unable to access via VPN yet. He's looking into their firewall settings to see if his access attempts are being blocked. His contact for this at MBARI is [~csewell]
• Instrument is coming along well.

• Duane has mentioned having the Floridians out to MBARI to walk through the use of the AVED software and user interfaces. When do we plan to do this?

• Gave Lee read/write permissions on EITS wiki
• Setting up server for data needs. (Database Server, Streaming Server, Web Server)

Notes:

• EITS test tank deployment in Florida is likely to be in May. Lee suggest that we could run the test in Florida and get network access to the data/video so that we can run integration tests at MBARI.
• Test node will be ready in early August. Due to Edie and Erika's schedules (they're out to sea) they won't be available for testing until September.
• The current thinking about deploying the data management software is:
  • Keep the bulk of it at MBARI (since Erika will be here). This includes the Master database, and AVED processing
  • At ORCA in Florida keep we can provide: A replicated database, movie files, VARS.
    • Edie wants to use VARS for other projects as well as for having students work on EITS data.
