Minutes from EITS meeting on 2007-12-07

Important: 

• Brian, Erika, and Danelle are meeting with Edie next Tuesday 12-11-07 at 11 am to discuss how things are going. Where is this meeting to be held ?
• NOVA file contractor Lone Wolf Documentary Group was supposed to be here at MBARI next week filming EITS, but that has been scrubbed due to unresolved legal issues.

Danelle Cline

• Summarized milestone1 workflow testing results. Results posted here
• Some RAID items are on backorder, but expected to arrive before end of the year. I'll know early next week of expected arrival date

• New EITS lab cable works
• ODI cable expected today
• New laser filters installed
• Pan/tilt problem still not resolved
• Invited Todd Ruston to discuss anti-virus issue, but was unavailble to join; will invite to next meeting
• Some discussion about possibly installing anti-virus and opening specific address/port ranges, but unknown if this will solve problem
• Test tank testing on schedule for next week
  • both day and night testing planned
  • camera field-of-view calibration test
  • PMT calibration using chemilluminescent balls

Brian Schlining

• VARS installed on new Mac for experiment
• Waiting for railings to arrive to move to the Bldg D MARS lab 
• EITS ancillary log data import to VARS working okay
• Discussed pro/cons of how EITS log data to be stored and queried from VARS.
  • Decided canned query through scripts is most flexible, and data should be stored separately from VARS DB for easier maintenance
• Also discussed knowledge base
  • Decided will build a knowledge base from scratch, but use the MBARI Knowledge Base Application for a reference guide
