Minutes from EITS meeting on 2008-01-09
- Tentatively plan trip out to ORCA (Florida) with Danelle, Erika, Brian and Duane around May.
Danelle Cline
- Danelle has been working with Todd Ruston to upgrade the operating system and install anti-viral software on the EITS control computer.
- Danelle also worked on preparing a poster to present the work on the Eye-In-The-Sea project at the upcoming International Conference on Computer Vision Theory and Applications.
- Received all orders for topside computer (EITS) and cluster.
- RAID formatting in process but waiting to hear back from technician about proper RAID formatting methods.

- PMT trigger mode still contains bugs in the code. This should be fixed by next week so Erika can send the PMT back for calibrations.
- ROV pilots made frame modification suggestions for EITS deployments and recovery. Jim Schofield is making a new illuminator mount for the white light, which will free up space inside the frame for the ROV's manipulator arm.
- Pier tests at Cal Poly are scheduled for the week of Feb. 4th.
- New anchor system is being developed for these tests. Erika has discussed this new design with Larry Bird.
- Final tank tests will occur in mid February after Cal Poly deployment and before MARS deployment on schedule. Mike Kelly has bee notified about these plans.
Brian Schlining
- Brian wants to know if we need VPN access to MARS servers.
- How the MARS and MBARI firewall are configured are important issues for VARS annotation.
Duane Edgington
- Preparing poster for ASLO presentation in Orlando, FL, early March. May require data from Erika and Danelle for the poster presentation.
