• Making progress on integrating recent saliency code
• Saliency code is changing rapidly. Maybe ask developers to create milestones or releases that outside users (like MBARI) can build against?
• Danelle Cline Make sure bug fixes from our saliency code get integrated into recent code base.

Brian Schlining - VARS

• Completed loading and editing of AVED data into VARS. Milestone 1 requirements for VARS are completed
• Currently, running integration testing in the video lab in preparation of next internal release of VARS. This release will include all EITS-motivated modifications.
• Moving on to other projects until we get a testing dataset from Lee.

Danelle Cline - AVED

• Working with Condor to create workflows. Condor is a workflow scheduler written in Java.
  • Script everything through Condor.

Notes

• Need to discuss golas for Milestone 2. Most likely goal is to automate the workflow. We'll talk more about it after the telecon on Friday.
• Need at least a 30 minute clip and all associated anxillary data from Lee ASAP.
• JAMSTEC
  • Very interested in VARS
  • They have a video lab (GODAC)
  • Small staff, currently do not annotate
  • Store video on tape as MPEG-2, Stream as MPEG-1
  • Limited manpower in video lab
  • They have a few questions about VARS: (Send answers to Dhugal -> dhugal@jamstec.go.jp, let him know to translate/forward to GODAC)
    1. How do you annotate an animal you are unsure of?
    2. Is there a way to make the interface in Japanese?
    3. Is a history of changes tracked?
