Thanks to the entire team for making yesterday's deployment...

Deployment Update

ESP Mack (SC)-- radio-link weaker than expected.  Brent going to do some home tweaking to see if he can get better signal

ESP Bruce (M0)-- new CTD is not playing well with driver code.  Possible solution has been pushed to it. Bob H. and Brent working on other solutions.  Gaps in CTD data have no effect on ESP core runs.

ESP NEO (M0)--Linux kernel has frozen for a second time.  It seems to take an exception, writes a log of it, try again, log again, and builds 30MB log file.  Brent finally got in and restarted Linux.  We used 3 pucks; 4 remaining BAC arrays are next up. This may be due to an updated SLP protocol with our old kernel...

 Monitoring during this deployment

Chris S. and Brent will get all bad news; Chris email, Brent email and phone text.  Cheri will receive bad news text messages as backup.

Chris P. will receive all messages via email, with the chore of looking for procedures that do not occur (not necessarily bad news).

Pickup date is Monday, Oct 27 with Shanna Rae.  Will drive to SC, got get 'em, return to Moss landing.

Machine Builds

  • Dwarf Boards:
    • boards that failed inspection (~30%) will  be resoldered when Dick returns from vacation (Oct 20), and retested.
    • Wayne writing a 'theory of operation' for dwarf and R-valve boards and will meet with Brent to get an overview, and bounce ideas.
  • Cheri: will provide a build schedule for Moe. This needed so we can plan the McLane visit(s) during the build of the next two cores.
  • By the end of next week, Addie will have a total parts order for ALL remaining MFB's.  We'll submit to a shop in San Jose as El Camino is too busy.  This will allow a visit from Mclane for MFB construction in early December.
  • USB Camera: new camera's are not backward (slower speed) compatible w/ our boards
    • We have a 2-stage decision:
      • talk to company about fixing their camera firmware to be truly backward compatible-Brent will try to get to them next week.
      • put something b/w the camera and our board that will allow USB 2.0 to work with our slower boards.  These are commercially available.

MFB

Software
