Tech Transfer
- Mack running well so far. One week down!
- We will try and keep the late May dates for pickup and dual deployment. May 27 Pickup Mack, May 28 Deploy Bruce & Neo. As dates approach, we'll decide on two teams; one team to ready two instruments, one for Mack pickup.
- Bruce:
- Temperature calibration on Monday after a weekend cool-down
- middle of week do roman flush
- end of week science gets it
- Cheri brought in reps from slider manufacturer. They have a model in which the races do not drift, but some parts of plastic. Unknown how this will respond to vapor environment in can. They left one slider, will send another, and we will begin temp and EtOH testing.
- Scott has prices on ordering/populating/building more dwarf and sleepy boards. Prices are as follows:
- Core: each needs 5 dwarves, 1 sleepy. Cost $7K for all components and wiring harnesses
- MFB: each needs 2 dwarves. Cost $2K for all components and wiring.
- This is what we decided we needed:
- Dwarf boards:
- Moe 6
- CMORE 6
- MFB 14
- DWSM 6
- Spares 10
- 4 Sleepy boards
MFB
- AIV hole sizes. It has been decided that we will order 10 custom AIV's, each with four 1/4-20 ports and two 10-32 ports. Rotors with custom grooves will have the 'larger' grooves to accommodate the 1/4-20 hole sizes. Addie will add DWSM components to any order she needs to place.
- Addie has found that the encoders we've been ordering are no longer made. Another manufacturer need be found. Group thinks this will not be difficult.
- Other things to order for big build:
- SPE columns
- motor gearing
- motor coupler
- SPE heater still needs some design work. Then must do cold testing.
Software
- Low power boards. Decided that low power, long-term deployments were not on the schedule for the next 1+ years, so resources will be redirected to other areas (e.g., a robust core). Brent had suggestions on things we could continue to look into to lower our power draw (power down battery, slow the CPU, change our intake/out-take hardware).
- Cheri found bug in puck counting when there was an arm miscalibration. Fix to be tested on Bruce.
- Brent working on implementing on Bruce e-mail notification of problems
- Working on modification fo firmware for DWSM.
Sphere and 4K DWSMS
- Surface cans from IMT Precision.
- Cans have been 'repaired' and will arrive next week
- Scott to order lid connectors
- Doug to order lid plugs for pressure testing
- we will test with He and test tank
- Although out of spec, we will take one set of top/bottom lids. These to be tested once plugs arrive next week.
- lids to be moved to tin shed for storage until ready for use
- Doug to hold new DWSM design review in 2-3 weeks.
GUI Development
- Kevin to meet with Brent to discuss issues related to mission scripting.
