Instrument Builds

• Scott still to start work on ROV mate-able interface. Will 'interface' with Chad and Marko.
• Dwarf boards on track for a mid-August delivery.
• Mid-October is the Monterey Ocean Experiment (MOE), where we want to deploy Moe w/ PCR. Our backup plan will be to deploy the tombstone if the grill is not ready.

• Mid-August we will have SC visitors that will want to run Bruce and Mack very hard for two weeks. Mostly short DA runs. issues to deal with:
  • Bruce collection clamp issue
  • Mack hand. Scott thinks it may just be a rev of the hand (i.e., widening a hole)

• Must remember that Mack and Bruce are still using back-side puck temp sensors. Neo has been changed to front, as should these two eventually.

MFB

• Still waiting on encoder boards--due early next week.
• gears still to be modified; should be done today
• syringe mount missing two pieces from El Camino order. Addie checking with Mike. We may have one set made in-house so as not to wait.
• Will find two dwarf boards for the grill so not to slow Addie. One must be Rev. 2, Scott looking around for solution.
• Immediate solution to driving the grill will be to use Linux laptop that Bob Herlien has. Eventually will move to a more portable solution.
• Jim will email Tony asking for another PCR module
• Brent made offer to help with instant Ruby graphing of PCR module data, if/when Addie gets some downtime.

Software

• Much discussion about freeing up ESPShore space. 2 DVD sets and 1HD backup currently exist. It was decided that files older than July 2006 could be deleted. Brent and Roman will be the deletors.
• Much discussion about radio link to M0. Brent has found a private residence that provides beautiful, unobstructed access and has suggested we offer to provide them DSL if we can mount antenna on their house. Chris S. looking into the legalities and if this would be okay with MBARI. Stay tuned.

DWSM

• Bell housings at El Camino. Doug found o-ring problem and has forwarded them a Rev C to work from.
• Swiss Cheese plate will not be finished b/4 vacation. Maybe EC will make blank and MBARI will do detail work.
• valves not ordered - only a 4-day lead time
• building a fabricated parts list.

Other Items

• ESP running next weeks BBQ. Jim will organize. Need 3 cooks/3 cleaners. Brent has offered a curry rice salad to go with our burgers and famous Costco cookies.
