Schedule Items
- October deployment:
Using Shanna Rae; MOB on October 8 (Weds), deploy October 9 (Thurs)
Machine Builds
- AIV mounted into Moe
- Elbow still giving problems with sticktion. Cheri and Scott have spent 3 days working on it, yet it still needs 2x the current of the elbow on NEO. Much discussion of what may be the problem.
- Will do a quick can-test this afternoon of NEO with the MFB attached. Will build delrin stand-off to help guide core into can. Addie to talk to Mike P. about this.
- Dick has checked all Sleepy boards; now needs a host board. Brent will work with Wayne MONDAY to generate a host. Will get to Dick by TUESDAY. Meanwhile, Dick is moving on to testing dwarves.
MFB
- Addie to work on a mechanical solution to the loosening of the mixing stand-pipe. Will not use silicone.
- Will size-test in can this afternoon
- Must connect PCR-module to dwarf via serial cable. Brent has cables; Addie will get and handle config file changes to make it work.
- Delrin stand-offs; talk to Mike P about design.
Software
- Current versions:
- FIRMWARE
- 2 Dwarf 'flavors':
- v 2.59--Standard on all dwarves (some dwarves on NEO have 2.58). ALL CORES WILL BE UPGRADED TO 2.59 before October deployment. All dwarves Dick is testing are being loaded with 2.59
- v.2.5a(64Hz)--special version for MFB dwarf ('a' version has debugging feature removed)
- RUBY
- Mainline Ruby is on Bruce and Mack
- A branch is called MFB/NEO--- this version modifies 3-4 files unique to NEO
- LINUX
- Mack & Bruce using v1.6---which has slight communications change from NEO. NEO will be upgraded to v1.6 so all running same LINUX.
- Also, a 2nd puck evac added to BAC arrays. Worry is that code is not tested. Chris S. will start testing on Bruce & Mack this weekend.
- Stitching of 'superphase' code will commence early next week (Monday).
- Wayne will work on getting up to speed on our board structure, and set-up a procedure to make board-burning more accessible to the layman.
- Wayne will work on getting firmware into HEX format so easily accesible to all.
- Tracking ESP Boards
- Wayne asked what people wanted to track. He has good idea of variables and will work with technicians to build a MS-Access database to track board builds, and firmware changes on those boards, etc.
- All parts in for antenna installation tomorrow. Scott building a kit for Brent to reterminate cable. Meeting at Abol's house @ 1:00pm. Mounting bracket should be finished by 1 today.
- Tested radio system on Mack. Something wrong because data from buouys can't find the WWW on-ramp.. Brent will try and fix this PM; otherwise will work on after antenna installation.
DWSM
- Bell housings should be delivered to MBARI Tuesday.
- Oatmeal can is ~75% finished
- Sphere needed updated drawings--more detail for machining. Doug stopped them from welding holds on the hemisphere and provided ports to hold piece.
- Big purchases coming: Swagloc/Min-K/Electrical fittings
- Must talk about $$ and burn rates in ASTEP/NSF/MBARI
- Doug needs 7 valve-motor mounting parts. Will take from MFB stock, but must re-order/remake.
- Doug has been working on Solidworks assembly drawing for the Oceanography paper.
GUI Development
- Mission GUI. End of next week all compononets should be in mission script GUI.
- Mission state software very expensive, and licensing is labyrinthine.
Other Items:
- Photoshoot of MFB mounted on core will be Tuesday, Sept 23. May mount grill to GG, to minimize impact on team.
