Machine Builds

• Rec'd 50um frits from Chand Eisenmann and it looks like they tested the thickness to our old (thinner) dimensions.   Chris S. will take and check with Roman to see if we need to return.
• The new harmonic drive on Gordon is working very well. 
  •  Today Cheri will move fluids then
  • 2 days of temperature calibrations then
  • science testing
• Two additional harmonic drives to arrive end of April.  These for Betty and Moe (where we'll replace the hybrid GG hand)

MFB

• We currently have 3 modules from LLNL:
•  #1 is on NEO.  #3 is on Moe.  Just Received #4.  All are running firmware version 4.03
• Much worry about how tightly heater boards are being held-should check before putting in water to make sure they haven't shaken free.

Drifter

• Many COTS parts arriving.  Lebus Core should be in this week.  Surlyn buoy in.  level wind motor shipped on April 9.  Level wind gearhead shipping April 17.
• No core will be used in any May cruise.
• Will be using stitch-weld can with soft line
• Gene needs Scott/Brent help with network configuration to route packets correctly.  We should start testing on desktop ASAP in order to be ready to use this on June cruise.
• Will try and move May 18 day to later in the week so not so close to May 14 cruise.

Software

• Wayne to laod new bits for CPLD into DWSM this afternoon.
• We will modify the ethernet driver in the Linux kernel and put on GORDON to get it tested before Axial.  This will occur the week of April 27.
• Brent ordered wireless dongles; we want to speak to the core with no cables--set to occur for the June Flyer cruise.

Deep ESP

• Doug thinks elevator may be light, thus the mis-match with how many blocks of foam we needed.
• 4' sling was best lift length for ship's crew
• O-Ring pinch.  In future will use star-pattern of tightening.  Ideas for 3rd, gas compression groove discussed.
• Brent getting DWSM set up for development work with Scott on Friday.

GUI

• work continues.  After June cruise and NOAA visit, will go to a new log file format.  So currently we will exercise new log code in Gordon.

Deployment Issues

•  For April 23 deployment, plan is to close sphere Tuesday, April 21 at 2pm.  This may slip but must be started Weds morning.  Science will have all reagents loaded by Monday AM for the next two dives.

Other Items:

• Still to be done:  Acoustic modem needs:  Reset capability & external power& drop weight.  Brent will check on modem voltage range.  Brent & Doug will confer about this.
