Machine Builds

• Brent needs radio pieces that he can't find since the WF cruise.  Gene may know where they are.
• ESP's are not Wi-Fi capable, but will work only on the boats.  Issues with MBARI's firewall make it difficult to use wirelessly here on shore.
• Brent discussed some difficulties we will have trying to modem connect to both ESP's and the vertical profiler's.  May require some radio switching from point-to-point to point-to-multipoint.

MFB

• Issues with one of the PCR modules MAY be related to poor heater film connection plug.  Chris P will test (with Cheri's help) and if not resolved, we'll switch to another module.
• Build of the final 4 MFB's should be complete by Sept 4.
• Chris P. may need MFB protocol change.

Drifter 

• work will not begin on drifter tension control until after McStar is deployed (Sep 29).

Software

• MFB2 hast latest firmware; must still be loaded on MFB3
• Gordon working well with the latest firmware and GUI code, but still needs extensive exercising.

Deep ESP/DWSM

• Pressure transducers are supposed to arrive Monday.
• Scott adding another thermostat to the heater ring which may provide finer control of in-ball temp's
• Brent pushing for gas-infused liquid (i.e., club soda) testing to see how DWSM handles large amt of boil-off.

GUI

Deployment Issues

• Sept 24 triple deployment.  Moe at M0, Bruce at Santa Cruz, and Mack in 16m of water only 5-7m deep.  Will needto adjust mooring for that one.
• Sep 30 is MARS.  Brent has to give talk that evening so may not be on ship unless guaranteed to be back early.

 Other Items

• Jim will handle Abe's renewal for using his house for radio access.  Same as last year; $599 for 1 year of use of his cable modem setup and for allowing us to mount an antenna on his house.
