Deployment Update
- Deployment pick-up will be Monday, Oct 27. Roman M., Scott, Jim, w/ divers Kim R, and Lonny. Meet at MBARI @ 5:30am, lv for SC 6:00am. Should be back around 2:00pm.
- Machines/moorings will be unloaded in high-bay. Have permission to store there until Friday until we find final resting places.
Machine Builds
- MOE: BOM will be finished by end of today.
- GG's hand is now in Moe. It's sticking in some positions. Will remove, clean, and lube. If we re-use, we'll use GG's gains...
- After a 3 day 'break-in' period of the problematic harmonic drive, it is now drawing near correct current levels, so we may try to reinstall in Moe.
MFB
- Voltage-regulator boards: Addie needs 9, Cheri needs 3; we are having Jose order parts for 12 Voltage Reg Boards and 15 power boards. Boards will need to be spun but time factor is the same as if we did them in house.
- Wiring schematic of MFB: Addie will make sketch and handoff to Jose/Scott for official ORCAD schematic.
- Serial Cable to PCR module; currently 2 kinds depending on if its a stand-alone MFB (plugging into MFB host) or mounted on core (plugging into Sleepy). Idea will be to make 1 connector that will work in any situation. Addie/Brent/Scott will work on setting this up.
- Brent thinks we could use 4 more 64mb Host boards. Addie will order.
Software
- 10 host boards checked-out, but still need ribbon cables. Addie will order after getting specs from Brent.
- Bufflehead clone is complete and now called Tern (which is Jason's old machine; size about 40GB). Bufflehead will eventually move to Wayne' office.
- running a superphase (BAC and PCR together) shows there are threading issues in the current (old) Ruby. Solutions:
- Keep fixing this version of Ruby (v1.68), as it's small and has evolved with the current machines
- Take the most reliable version today (v1.86; working on v1.9), put in our patches and test--could be 3 weeks work.
- Decided to run NEO in debugging mode when it returns and track down the superphase threading problem. If it's always in the same place then we fix and go with solution #1; if it's always in a different place, we discuss solution #2.
DWSM
Sphere pictures in /projectlibrary/ESP/DWSM/4k DWSM/4k Sphere Pictures/4k Sphere machining
- Top 1/2 of sphere; was not able to do complete clean-up cutting. Doug will check when it comes off lathe. Bottom 1/2 is now off lathe and on the mill. Both should be ready in 2-3 weeks.
- Doug working specifics of o-rings--could be $15/each.
- Brent suggests we use current dwarves/software because DWSM not ready for full-blown new stuff.
- Addie adding some motor mount pieces to the current machining order that Doug will need.
- Mark Brown notified that we need to get on Port Hueneme schedule.
