Schedule Items 

• October deployment:
  • Using Shanna Rae;  MOB on October 8 (Weds), deploy October 9 (Thurs).

Machine Builds

• Puck sensor boards (10 made) have been modified and Scottis still testing on GG in the fridge.  Will fit in as fridge schedule opens up.
• Mack giving many problems to SC group, who leave tomorrow.  Chris thinks its a PBV calbration problem.  Intermittent.  Scott will start tackling this on Tuesday.
• Syringe testing:  not really time-critical.  Will perform after October deployment.  Scott also wants to test on syringe frames in the cold.  Still waiting on delivery of 10ml CS.
• Dick checking Dwarfs and R-valve boards.

 MFB

• Tombstone (TS) has worked in the cold.  Now re-doing at ambient to compare.
• There was a never-before-seen error in the driver data from the module;  maybe the module burped data that Ruby couldn't handle or it could be a threading issue.  Bob Herlien is being contacted about this problem.
• Bracket to hold PCR module on grill will be ready Tues/Weds next week
• All syringe speeds on TS are working with voltage regulator on syringe and rotary valves (not heaters).
• Have noticed the gains on the grill syringe are much different than those on the TS, probably due to plunger/syringe tightness differences.  Means Grill uses more power than TS.
• Seal on mixing column still not good.  New o-rings ordered, will come in Tuesday.  Addie to buy PEEK tubing cutter.
• Stand-Alone power boards are not critical path yet, so Scott will wait until after deployment.
• Addie and Chris P. need to come up with a test plan for the TS/Grill for mounting on a  core.
• Addie will let Mike P. know that we are mounting TS on Neo for October; mike should start the physical mount Sept 9-11.

Software

• Limit switch code is now working.  Small slight tweaking needed, but pretty much finished.
• Mack's brain freeze; stuck doing a single Ruby primitive.  We killed process and started again.  Will look for it to happen again.
• Upon looking at antenna house,  Brent and Wayne are making slight changes to antenna location.  We want to 'kit' the installation so there will only be 1 visit.  Brent continues to try and setup the router/antenna. 

DWSM

•  Doug found that bell housing still not finished; next week.  Anodizing will use a sodium dichromate seal with no color added to the anodizing.
• much discussion about anodizing to slow galvanic corrosion; Sphere is too large to anodize so perhaps use a polyurethane spray.
• Critical Path for DWSM is the swiss cheese plates.  Plans have been given to Ray & Jerry who think they can do it.  Must check with them for a timeline.
• Soup can is now a 2-piece Oatmeal can, which we are doing in-house.
• Scott still to order connectors in and out of DWSM housing.
• Doug explained the possible testing procedures of DWSM in his email:There are two pressure modes and three assembly options.
   
  Running modes are: ASME rated (aka safe to stand next to) and Exclusion (put in pressure test facility and run remotely)
  Assembly modes are: 3/8" SS internal screws and open HP motor, 3/8 screws and closed HP motor, or B7 jacket bolts. The HP pump shaft seal has low pressure limit, hence the need for the compensated motor. The jacket bolting needs the complete closed housing assembly, MINK's cables, etc.

  This means that we do need the soup can housing to do any significant development, but that we can run the full cycle (at reduced pressure) before fully terminatingeverything. The soup can is in the machine shop queue along with a lot of other parts that we need.
   

• Scott suggested we go ahead and rent a Freezer van to both test the sphere at temp, and use as a pressure test housing for the DWSM.  will look into.
• Scott to order connectors that go in and out of DWSM housing.
• Doug to order normal Swageloc SS fittings and test corrosive properties against Ti plate.

GUI Development

•  Kevin making changes to GUI in time for Oct deployment
• Will be finished by Sept 26.
• Still trying to get an evaluation version of machine state software.

Other Items:

Invited paper to Oceanography is due Sept 15.  Chris will need help with some figures.
