Present: Jim, Chris S., Kevin, Doug, Cheri, Brent, Scott, Addie
Tech Transfer
Discussion Items:
- Results of hand/arm testing.
- Mack has been cold-tested and Brent is working on temp sensor testing.
- Bruce--all valves are in, hand mostly assembled, still to finish plumbing
- Mike Parker Machining list -- working quickly through it
- New hand order. Plans update? Mike ready to go to El Camino? How many? N
- New hands to be ordered this summer. XX hand assemblies + 3 sets of fingers with new fulcrum positions to replace the existing 'new' fingers
- New syringe cost.
- Still not heard back from company
- New Dwarf Boards. ~$4K/system with 6 week lead time. Account? How many?
- Jose still forming the database. Just a core, but all electronics (no MFB), Jose should charge 900612, maybe a subaccount (.99 for CIP)).
Action Items
Action Items from last week:
ACTION: check with Jose about number of dwarves to order (Scott) In progress: Jose has mad the first pass through and looks like all components are still available. Jose getting price and lead time on everything.
ACTION: syringes. Wait to hear from company final costs and order #'s and get sample of their new product. (Scott) In progress
ACTION: Will cast a new schedule taking into account our current progress (Jim/Cheri/Scott) Finished
ACTION: Order fluidic fittings for cores and MFB (Cheri) Finished
ACTION: Will drill out pressure sensor holes in clamps when we revalve the cores. (Scott/Cheri) Finished
MFB
Discussion Items:
- Getting excellent yields out of solid-phase-extraction--Good job Addie and Chris P!!
- Mixing column basically finished
- next week will make extract from seawater lysate and compare to bench-top
- in parallel, do dye tests with heater block.
ACTION: Hook up heater block and test diodes for fluorescence sensitivity. (Addie) In progress
ACTION: Will work on figuring cable problem to three-way valves. (Addie) Finished
ACTION: Mike will bore out stator on the mixing column so we don't need more mix tubing or reducing fittings. (Addie) Finished
ACTION: Fan not working on PCR module and Addie will try and track down why (check in various terminal/call LLNL) bob said he's never had the fan turn on or off with that module. (Addie); Finished
Software
- puck heating control
- now can send a temperature to puck and it gets there in 2-3 minutes with little overshoot
- Brent would like to pull calibration values out into a structure, since they are different on each instrument
Action Items:
ACTION: Finish by Feb 6 the temperature calibration model, incorporating Scott's prior work if possible. (Brent)
ACTION: make another temperature puck (Scott)
ACTION: Write 'cheat sheet' showing new parameter available for changing during sample collection (Brent)
Action Items from last week:
ACTION: Set-up sleepy board and an elmo on desk to emulate (Brent) In progress: Can't find elmo but have other pieces.
ACTION: working on a cue of interrupts in the threading environment (Brent): Low priority Not started
ACTION: Work with the auto-cal code for carosal and aligment (Brent): Medium priority Not started
Sphere and 4K DWSMS
Battery boxes? Scott still waiting to hear.
- DWSM progress? Have ~$1300 of parts coming into lab to build lung system. Going into Bldg B lab. pumps not coming in yet, but will find hand-pumps. Will start construction next week. Maybe need some days of Jim S.
ACTION: Waiting for company to return yes/no on whether they can manufacture screens to mass instead of size. (Doug/Scott) In progress
ACTION: Order two battery boxes (w/out batteries)--~$4K; account #701312.04: In progress: Scott waiting for lower price
ACTION: Go back to Mark Brown and ask who we should go with (Jim): Finished (Tapemation is it unless we want to go back east)
GUI Development
- Mission script GUI introduction
Kevin showed how to use the mission script GUI located here.
Bugs for this GUI can be reported here.
On Table:
Chris P. must work with Brent before spring deployments to solve sampling problem
Chris P. and Brent need to address high volume issues for Sept deployment.
BIOSA integration as a contextual sensor. ACTION: how will BIOSA integrate and drivers needed (Brent & Wayne)
