VARS-PL is the computer on the R/V Point Lobos used for running VARS

VARS is launched via Java Web Start on VARS-PL. Each application has a correspoding desktop shortcut and start menu item; they should appear as reqular applications to the users and no network connection is needed to launch them. The location of the web start applications are C:\Program Files\VARS\webstart. The applications here can be updated by following the build instructions for the 'vars-mbari' module on moonjelly, then executing the modules build file with 'ant deploy.jnlp.pl'
