Collapse Settings dialog box
The 3D collapse cutting method is used for the following Surface Finish toolpath types:
- Shallow
- Scallop
- Leftover
Mastercam follows these steps to calculate the toolpath:
- Create a zone around the cutting area
- Cut the boundary of the zone
- Step in to create each successive cut that offsets the outer boundary by the maximum stepover
Override automatic resolution calculation
When disabled, allows the system to calculate the appropriate collapse resolution based on the tool, stepover, and cut tolerance.
% of stepover
Available when Override automatic resolution calculation is selected, allowing the resolution to be changed by the percentage of the stepover. A smaller collapse resolution may take longer to generate and creates a larger NC program.
Create limiting zone boundaries as geometry
Makes entities from the outermost boundaries of the 3D collapse process.
