Prompts

When you use a function that requires your input such as selecting an entity, a point, or a chain, Mastercam provides some brief directions in the form of a prompt (example shown below):

You can relocate these prompt "windows" by dragging and dropping them anywhere. The prompt window always appears in the last position in which you placed it. For example, if you drag the prompt window from the graphics window to the ribbon area, each time Mastercam prompts for input, the prompt window appears exactly over that area of your screen.

Right-click the prompt to customize the display:

  • Choose from the following options to modify the text size:
    • Size Prompt
    Small
    Medium
    Large

  • Choose Text color or Background color to change the color of the text or background.

  • Choose Auto hide to minimize larger prompts to a single line. A small down arrow indicates that the prompt is minimized. Hover over the prompt to briefly expand it to full size.

NOTE
  • Because the prompt window hides anything under it, you may not want to move it over information displayed in Toolpaths Manager, or any used sidebar areas.
  • The prompt window is not dockable.
