Attributes dialog box
Use the Attributes dialog box to change one or more entity attributes, including:
- Color
- Point style
- Line style
- Line width
- Level
- Surface density
You can set attributes for the current Mastercam session or change attributes for selected entities. To modify attributes for one or more selected entities in the graphics window, select Set All (shown below) before or after selecting the entities to modify.
Color
Shows the color number and a sample of the current color. Select a color by:
- Typing its ID number in the Color field.
- Clicking the color palette to open the Colors dialog box.
Color palette
Opens the Colors dialog box where you select or customize the attribute color you want to use.
Line style
Select a line style from the drop-down list.
Point style
Select a point style from the drop-down list.
Level number
Type a number for the level where you want to place entities.
Select
Choose to select a level from the Levels dialog box.
Force visibility
Select to manage the display of the assigned level in the graphics window. Choose On to display the assigned level, even if it was previously hidden. Choose Off to hide the assigned level, even if it was previously displayed.
- You cannot use this setting to hide the main level if the option Main level is always visible is on. The status line under the radio buttons shows the current state of that option. Manage the Main level is always visible option from the Levels Manager or the Screen property page.
- The Force visibility field(s) appears only when changing the attribute of an entity.
- If you leave the Force visibility option unselected, the level displays as it is defined in the Levels Manager.
Line width
Select a line width from the drop-down list.
Surface density
Defines the relative density of display curves used to represent wireframe (unshaded) surfaces. Enter a value between 0 (least dense) and 15 (most dense). Entering a density of zero displays the outline of the surface and one curve in each of the surface directions. Mastercam determines the appropriate number of curves for a density value based on the composition of the surface. Surface density settings do not affect shaded surfaces. A higher density setting may reduce display speed.
Same as
Temporarily minimizes the Attributes dialog box and lets you select an entity from the graphics window to set the current system geometry attributes.
- To change attribute settings during the current Mastercam session, choose File, Configuration to open the System Configuration dialog box. Then choose the CAD Settings page, and set the attributes through the Entity Attribute Manager. When you choose Apply or OK to exit the System Configuration and are asked if you want to save the settings, choose No so that the changes apply only to this session.
- To set default startup attribute values that are used globally and applied to every Mastercam session, choose File, Configuration to open the System Configuration dialog box. Then use the Colors property page to set Color defaults and the CAD Settings property page to set Line width, Line style, Point style, and Entity Attributes Manager defaults. When you choose Apply or OK to exit the System Configuration and are asked if you want to save the settings, choose Yes so that the changes are saved to the configuration file, and applied as the default settings.
