Dimension Properties dialog box
Use the properties dialog box to view read-only properties for the following dimension entity types:
- Linear
- Radius
- Diameter
- Angular
- Point
- Ordinate
- Tangent
The specific dimension properties dialog box name reflects the type of dimension selected, for example: Line Properties, Point Properties, Angle Properties.
Use the buttons in this dialog box to quickly add and remove witness lines or leaders, to edit dimension text, or to display the Drafting function panel and edit the dimension in the graphics window. You can also edit the level, color, and line width entity attributes.
Some of the properties listed here may not be displayed.
View
Read-only. Displays the database view number associated with the selected entity.
Arrow pos
Read-only. Identifies leader line and arrow position with respect to witness lines of linear format dimensions (horizontal, vertical, parallel, tangent, diameter, and angular). Possible values are:
- Inside: Leader lines and arrowheads are positioned inside witness lines.
- Outside: Leader lines and arrowheads are positioned outside witness lines.
Edited
Read-only. Indicates whether or not dimension text was changed from what Mastercam had calculated.
Units
Read-only. Displays the fraction Mastercam rounds to, if coordinate format is set to Fractional on the Dimension Attributes property page. Default value is 1/2.
Text rep
Read-only. Identifies the numerical format of the dimension text for the selected dimension. For linear dimensions, this format is usually decimal and may also be Scientific, Engineering, Fractional, or Architectural. For angular dimensions, this format is decimal degrees.
Tolerance
Read-only. Identifies the tolerance setting (None, +/-, Limit, DIN) for the selected entity.
Value
Read-only. Displays the current value of the selected dimension, as shown in the dimension text.
Scale
Read-only. Identifies the scaling value (or ratio) associated with the selected dimension. Each time the drawing changes and the dimension is regenerated, this scale is maintained.
Witness lines
Indicates and toggles display of first and second witness lines of selected dimension in the graphics window.
- The green check mark indicates that witness line display is turned on. The left check mark corresponds to the first witness line. The right check mark corresponds to the second witness line.
- The red X indicates that the witness line display is turned off. The left X corresponds to the first witness line. The right X corresponds to the second witness line.
Leader lines
Indicates and toggles display of first and second (if any) leader lines of selected drafting entity in the graphics window.
- The green check mark indicates that leader line display is turned on. The left check mark corresponds to first leader line. The right check mark corresponds to second leader line. If the selected drafting entity has only one leader line, then only one mark appears next to the leader lines icon.
- The red X indicates that leader line display is turned off. The left X corresponds to first leader line. The right X corresponds to second leader line. If the selected drafting entity has only one leader line, then only one mark appears next to the leader lines icon.
Edit text
Opens the Note dialog box, where you can edit selected note or label text.
Quick edit
Activates the Smart Drafting Dimensions function, which returns you to the graphics window, where you can reposition selected dimension, note, or label text and use the Drafting function to edit the selected drafting entity.
Level
Enter a number in the field to assign a level to the selected entity, or click to display the Levels Manager.
Color
Enter a number in the field to assign a color to the selected entity, or click to display the Colors dialog box.
Style
Select a new line style from the drop-down.
Width
Select a new line width from the drop-down.
Association
Opens the Associations dialog box. This dialog box lists all geometry, planes, dimensions, 3D annotations, and operations that are associated with the selected entity.
Propagate
Only available when multiple entities are selected or when attributes are changed. Click to apply attribute changes to all selected entities.
