ATP Strategies
When you associate levels to operations, you create a machining strategy. Strategies are saved to the Automatic Toolpathing (ATP) database as XML files.
A strategy consists of a list of level names with an operation assigned to each level name. When ATP applies a strategy to the part files, it looks for level names in the part files that match the level names listed in the strategy. It then applies the operation assigned to the level in the strategy to the geometry in the matching level in the part file.
Setting up a strategy is usually done once and saved with the intent to apply it to future jobs. Saved strategies are available for you to choose in the Mastercam ATP dialog box to process your files. You may make edits to an existing strategy to meet your machining needs, or you may create a new strategy.
