Options dialog box: ATP
Use the Options dialog box to set ATP (Automatic Toolpathing) options such as the default material and sheet size, the Z position parameters, and whether or not to display the nesting dialog during processing files.
You can create marking operations that will be output before other operations. Create a contour or engrave toolpath and choose a center drill tool. Mastercam recognizes this type of toolpath as a marking operation and always outputs it first, regardless of the sorting method chosen.
Default sheet size / Default material
Sets the default sheet size for the nesting sheets. In Mastercam configurations, you can also set the sheet's default material. Enter the appropriate material, length, and width in their respective fields.
Use geometry depths
Uses the Z depths from each part file's geometry during processing. If no Z depth is found, the saved operation depth will be used.
All chains must be at Z0 to be toolpathed. However, ATP will search for any entity that lies in the top Cplane and use its Z depth if it is on the same level.
Set Z zero top of part
Sets the top of the part at Z0. When deselected, sets the table/spoilboard at Z0, which puts the bottom of the part at Z0.
Translate top of part to Z zero
Moves the Z zero located at the bottom of a part to the Z zero at the top of the part.
None
Does not apply any sorting to the chains.
Area
Orders your chains by area. If the Chaining sort order is set to Ascending, the biggest chains will be first. If it is set to Descending, the smallest chains will be first.
Database order
Orders the chains in the order they were created.
Length
Orders your chains by chain length. If the Chaining sort order is set to Ascending, the longest chains will be first. If it is set to Descending, the shortest chains will be first.
Chaining sort order
Changes the sort order of the chains by either Ascending or Descending. Marking operations will be machined first regardless of the sorting order chosen. This option is unavailable if Chaining sort type is set to None.
File mask
Specify the file type to process by choosing DXF, DWG, or MCAM. This option is only available when Configuration is set to Mastercam in the Mastercam ATP dialog box.
Show nesting dialog at runtime
When deselected, keeps the Nesting dialog box from displaying during the Automatic Toolpathing process. The Nesting dialog box requires user interaction before the Automatic Toolpathing process can continue. If you do not deselect this checkbox, you will need to constantly monitor your computer to avoid downtime during processing.
Ignore empty levels
When selected, sets ATP to skip, rather than abort, a process if it encounters a level that has an operation mapped to it but contains no geometry.
Ignore blanked levels
When selected, the ATP strategy will not process entities that are blanked, hidden, or tagged as not visible in the Levels Manager.
Fit all geometry to the graphics window [ALT + F1] to see all visible entities.
Rotate files on import
Rotates imported files 90 degrees before processing.
This is typically only used with the ATP XP-CNC configuration with a CNC router that has a table long in the Y axis.
Combine views
Combines all parallel views into a single view and move arcs from the parallel views to the single view. Parallel views are those Cplanes that exist in the same two-dimensional plane (XY, XZ, or YZ) but differ by rotation or position. This option is useful when you translate files from other applications and want to reduce the number of different views in order to make editing the geometry easier.
Mastercam designates the view with the lowest number as the combined view. For example, if you have arcs on view 4 (bottom view) and view 1 (top view), Mastercam moves all arcs to view 1. View 4 becomes an empty view, which is not saved with the file.
Filter level 0
When selected, ATP ignores any levels named 0 during a level scan.
Post all files
Mastercam posts all part files generated by the ATP process. These part files are saved to the location you set for the Output Folder.
Keep nested drawing open at end of process
Keeps the part file open after ATP nesting has been completed.
Do not post nested drawing
Does not post the nested drawing.
Create label data for each nested part
Creates entries for each instance of each part on the nested sheet of the generated results XML. When generating labels, outputs a label for each instance of each part on the nested sheet.
