Cutoff page
Use the Cutoff page to set parameters for a cutoff operation on a Mill-Turn machine. From the library, select a cutoff operation to apply to the current part. Then choose to use the tool from the selected library operation or select a different tool from a tool library. Cutoff toolpaths make vertical cuts through the part, such as when dividing sections of bar stock. Mastercam generates a Lathe Cutoff operation from this page after completion of the Pickoff, Cutoff operation.
Parameters
Strategy
Select a strategy from the drop-down list. Typically you have two strategies, one for the upper turret and one for the lower turret.
Comment
Enter a comment for the operation. Comments help identify the operation in the Toolpaths Manager.
From operation
Click to load the comment stored in selected library operation.
Library
Click to select a library from which to load a cutoff operation. The library path and file name display.
Select an operations library
Click to select the cutoff operation to load from the library. The list displays only cutoff operations in the selected library.
Use tool from operation
Select to create the cutoff operation using the tool stored in the library operation.
Select a tool
Select to display the Tool Manager dialog box from which to pick a library tool.
