CView dialog box
Use the CView utility to set Tplanes and Cplanes when you are creating Mill Contour and Drill toolpaths for Mastercam Lathe applications. Standard Lathe C-axis toolpaths, such as C-axis Drill, automatically set the Tplane and Cplane for you. However, the Mill versions of those toolpaths do not. Use this dialog box as a utility to orient a Mill Contour or Mill Drill toolpath to your part.
First, in the C-Axis Milling Type section, choose the general orientation of the toolpath. This selection determines the Tplane. In the section below, choose how the Cplane will be oriented relative to the Tplane.
Finally, choose an Initial Angle Adjustment to rotate the part so that a particular section or face aligns to the Tplane/Cplane that you selected. Click Select to return to the graphics window and select one of the following entities:
- A point to rotate the part so that the tool plane is normal to an imaginary line drawn from the point perpendicular to the X-axis.
- A line to rotate the part so that the Tplane is parallel to the line.
- An arc to set the initial angle normal to the arc's plane.
At any time, choose Display to see a graphic representation of your settings. The tool displays as oriented in the Tplane; the white rectangle shows the Cplane. The tool displays as oriented in the Tplane; the white rectangle shows the construction plane.
Right face
Sets the Tplane to the right view. The actual Tplane used by Mastercam will be determined after the Initial angle adjustment.
Back face
Sets the Tplane to the left view. The actual Tplane used by Mastercam will be determined after the Initial angle adjustment.
Cross
Sets the Tplane to back view. The actual Tplane used by Mastercam will be determined after the Initial angle adjustment.
Axis substitution
Sets the Tplane to the top view. The actual Tplane used by Mastercam will be determined after the Initial angle adjustment.
Parallel
Sets the Cplane parallel to the Tplane. The Initial angle adjustment is used along with the tool cutting plane to determine the actual Cplane.
Perpendicular
Sets the Cplane perpendicular to the Tplane. The Initial angle adjustment is used along with the tool cutting plane to determine the actual Cplane.
Swiss
Sets the Cplane perpendicular to the Tplane, from the other perpendicular. The Initial angle adjustment is used along with the tool cutting plane to determine the actual Cplane.
Rotate c-axis
Rotates the planes about the spindle axis by this amount to determine the final tool and construction planes. Enter the angle adjustment directly in the field or click Select to return to the graphics window and set the angle by selecting geometry.
