Posting Your Toolpaths

Before you can run Mastercam's toolpaths on your machine tool, you need to convert the toolpath data in your part file to NC code that is properly formatted for your machine tool's control. This is called "post processing," or just "posting" for short. Your post is tightly connected to the machine and control definition. To post your toolpaths for a specific machine, select the proper machine definition and the post will be automatically loaded.

This topic is about the posts used by Mill, Lathe, Router, and Wire. These are written in a language called MP. Mastercam Mill-Turn uses a different posting language called MP.NET. Mill-Turn posts are outside the scope of this documentation.
