Navproc and Logging

This section covers a system of software components that is used to collect and manage core data streams coming from the ships and ROVs. It involves many components and systems and is somewhat complex. This system was developed at MBARI many years ago as a necessity for the collection of data that was of core importance to the institute. We needed to develop it internally as there was nothing like it in existence at the time. These particular pages are a high level overview of the different components of the system and what they do. As of this writing, there is one system running on the Rachel Carson and one under development for the David Packard. For legacy reasons, we have documentation also for the system that ran on the Western Flyer. For details of each vessel system, see these pages:
