Change Recognition dialog box
Use the Change Recognition dialog box to view and manipulate changes between the currently open file and a specified incoming file. You can select the operation you want to view, as well as display the original and incoming geometry in various ways. If necessary, you can edit geometry and regenerate toolpaths.
Operation status
This icon located to the left of the drop-down menu shows the status of the current operation. The status can be as follows:
- Affected: An operation whose toolpaths must be updated because of geometry changes in the incoming file
- Dirty: An operation that must be regenerated.
- Up-to-date: An operation that is not affected or dirty.
Operation drop-down
Contains a list of operations for the part. Select the operation to analyze or update.
Operation slider
This slider control provides an alternative way to select operations. The colors in the slider's channel reflect the status of each operation as follows:
- Cyan: Up-to-date
- Red: Affected
- Magenta: Dirty
You can change these default colors with the Change Recognition colors dialog box.
Edit geometry
Opens the appropriate dialog box for modifying the geometry associated with the selected operation.
Regenerate
Regenerates the toolpaths for the selected operation.
View summary report
Displays an operation-by-operation text summary of geometric entities in the original and incoming files.
Select
Lets you select geometry to keep in the file. For example, your original file may contain geometry that is used only to specify special curves like containment boundaries. Such geometry assists with the generation of toolpaths, but does not necessarily represent physical features of the part. This construction geometry will likely not appear in the incoming file. So, to force change recognition to preserve this geometry, use the Select geometry to mark as being in both Original File and Incoming File function to add the geometry to the incoming file.
Select toolpath display colors
Displays the Change Recognition colors dialog box. Use this dialog box to choose colors for the selected operation, as well as for the original and incoming geometry.
Re-orient incoming file
Click to display the Change Recognition Repositioning dialog box, from which you can reposition the incoming geometry.
Draw selected operation
Displays the toolpath for the current operation.
Ignore up-to-date operations
Filters out operations that are unaffected by changes in the incoming file. That is, only affected operations will be available for selection.
First operation
Selects the first operation in the operations list.
Previous operation
Selects the previous operation in the operations list.
Next operation
Selects the next operation in the operations list.
Last operation
Selects the last operation in the operations list.
Geometry display
Controls the geometry that appears in Mastercam's graphics window. You can choose from the following options:
- Original file: Mastercam displays all geometry in the original file.
- Incoming file: Mastercam displays all geometry in the incoming file.
- Common: Mastercam displays geometry that resides in both the original and incoming files.
- Unique to Original: Mastercam displays geometry in the original file that is not in the incoming file.
- Unique to Incoming: Mastercam displays geometry in the incoming file that is not in the original file.
- Both files: Mastercam displays all geometry in both files.
- Toolpath Geometry: Mastercam displays only geometry associated with toolpaths.
