File Tracking dialog box

Use the File Tracking dialog box to manage the files that Mastercam tracks, as well as to customize how Mastercam searches for newer versions of tracked files. For example, you can turn tracking on and off, check immediately for new files, or set automatic tracking options.

Tracking

Toggles the tracking function. When this option is off, Mastercam ignores all tracking options.

Tracking file list

This box lists the files currently being tracked.

Check now

Checks for new versions of the files displayed in the file list.

Search subfolders

Tells Mastercam to search the current folder and any folders inside the current folder.

File name must be exact match

Tells Mastercam to search only for files that have the same file name (not including the file extension). If this option is off, Mastercam searches for any files that begin with the same file name. For example, if the currently tracked file is named Part.mcam, Mastercam finds files with names like Part_new.mcam and Part_revised.sld.

File extension must be an exact match

Tells Mastercam to search only for files with the same file extension.

Automatic tracking

Tells Mastercam to add files to the tracking list when files are opened.

Check current file at FileOpen

Tells Mastercam to check for a newer version of the current file as soon as the file is opened.

Check all files at Startup

Tells Mastercam to check for a newer version of the current file as soon Mastercam starts.

Check all files at File-New

Tells Mastercam to check files when you choose File, New.

Additional folders

Use the Additional folders box to specify File Tracking search folders. To add a folder, right-click in the box, and then choose Add. Navigate to the desired folder, and click OK. File Tracking looks for new file versions in all specified folders, as well as the folder (and optionally the subfolders) in which the current file resides.

  • Add: Adds a file to the tracked file list
  • Remove: Removes a file from the tracked file list
  • Synchronize: Dates the specified file so that it is the newest version
  • Remove All: Removes all entries from the tracked file list
