Communications page: Control Definition
Use the Communications page to set the serial communications package for Mastercam.
Click Set external communications to launch the communications program and edit the settings.
This page is used by all machine types.

Communications
Choose the communications package you will use to transmit NC files to your control. CIMCODNC specifies the CIMCO communications package. Other third-party communications packages may also appear in this list.
To add a communications package, it must be added on the Communications page of the System Configuration dialog box. After you select a communications package’s EXE file, Mastercam displays the Communications Arguments dialog box. In this dialog box, you can specify the Transmit, Receive, and Setup command-line arguments expected by the chosen communications program.
Set external communications
Access your communications package to edit the settings.
Right-click menu options
Default—Reset either the current page or the entire control definition to the default values.
Import—Import values for either the current page or all pages from a different control definition.
However, importing values will not change the following:
- Selected post processor, control type, and name
- Toolpath/operation defaults
- Post text
- Miscellaneous integer and real values
You can import post text and miscellaneous values from the Text page.
