Standard Views function

Use the Standard Views function to change your view of geometry in the graphics window by selecting one of Mastercam's standard, predefined graphics views (Gview), including:

Isometric (shows the top, front, and right side of an object, with the three axes appearing equally foreshortened.)
Isometric Reverse (shows the top, front, and left side of an object, with the three axes appearing equally foreshortened)
Trimetric (shows the top, front, and right side of an object, with the three axes appearing unequally foreshortened.)

Changing the Gview does not move or otherwise translate the geometry; it moves only your vantage point. However, the geometry appears to rotate when you change the Gview.

  • When creating geometry, you might find it helpful to set the Gview to match the construction plane (Cplane).
  • You can configure Mastercam to automatically set the Cplane and the tool plane (Tplane) to match the Gview whenever it changes.
NOTE

All planes are defined relative to the Work Coordinate System (WCS). If you reorient the WCS, all predefined planes are also reoriented.
