Mastercam Curve Functions

Mastercam includes multiple Curve functions, located on the Wireframe tab. These functions create curves or curve slices on solids, surfaces, or meshes in different ways. These curves can then be used by other Mastercam functions, such as creating boundaries for toolpaths (as shown below) or indicating parting lines for mold making.

An example of created curves used for a 3D Blend toolpath.

Curve Functions

Icon Function Name Function Description
Curve One Edge Creates a curve on an individual solid, surface, or mesh edge.
Curve All Edges Create curves on all the edges of a surface, solid body, or solid face.
Curve Slice by Plane Creates curves on surfaces, solids, and meshes, or use to create points on a curve.
Curve Slice Along Curve Creates wireframe slices through surfaces, solids, and meshes along a selected chain.
Curve at Intersection Create curves at the intersections between surfaces, solids, and meshes.
Curve Flowline Creates flowline curves on a surface.
Curve Constant Parameter Creates a curve along the UV lines of a surface at a selected location.
Curve Parting Line Create curves on surfaces based on the selected construction plane.
Curve Surface Automatically creates surface curves on the selected surface.
Curve Dynamic Creates curves on a surface that travel through selected locations.
Curve Center Creates a wireframe curve at the midline between two or more selected chains.
