Location
A query can be constrained to a specific geographic region using two methods.
Regions¶
Regions allow users to select from a list of predefined regions commonly used in MBARI research. These preset options allow you to quickly focus your query on well-known areas of study without needing to enter coordinates manually. When a region is selected, the corresponding coordinates populate in the latitude and longitude fields.

Coordinates¶
Coordinates (latitude and longitude) can be manually to define a custom search area. Minimum and maximum coordinates should be entered in decimal degrees. For a single point, enter the same value for the minimum and maximum values for each latitude and longitude.
Region, and coordinate entries are automatically added to the query once added in its respective entry field. Each field can be removed by clicking the “x” that appears when hovering over this field.
If all constraints have been specified, press the blue SEARCH on the floating banner to run your query.
