Script Linker dialog box
Use the Script Linker to turn a NET-Script into a Mastercam function. You can add the function to the ribbon, Quick Access Toolbar, or context menu. Creating a function from a NET-Script and adding it to the Mastercam interface allows you to launch the script with the click of a button instead of opening it from the NET-Script Editor.

Launch the NET-Script Editor from the Home tab of the ribbon.

Click Open.

Select the NET-Script from which you want to create a Mastercam function.

Click Open. The NET-Script opens in the NET-Script Editor.

Select Export As from the Save drop-down. The Script Linker opens.

In the Script Linker dialog box, do the following:

Name the function.

Enter tooltip text to display when you hover over the function button.

Add icons for the function.

Choose an output location.

- Click Export. Mastercam creates the function in the specified location.
You can add the function to the QAT, context menu, or ribbon. See Options dialog box: Mastercam to learn how to customize the location of functions.
Function name
Specify the name of the function to be created from the NET-Script.
Screen tip
Enter text to display when the user hovers over the function button. Screen tips are generally a description of the function.
16 x 16 pixel icon
Use the Select icon button to choose a 16 x 16 pixel .jpg or .png file to use as a small icon for the function.
32 x 32 pixel icon
Use the Select icon button to choose a 32 x 32 pixel .jpg or .png file to use as a large icon for the function.
Output location
Select the location to save the function.

Save to the Shared Add-Ins folder to allow all users of the computer on which Mastercam is installed to access the function.

Save to the User's Add-Ins folder to allow only the user who created the function to access it.
Copy script to output location
Select to place a copy of the NET-Script from which the function is created into the function output location.
